Video Feedback: Increasing Ownership and Improving Writing
Limited Capacity seats available

Often students misunderstand, ignore, or fail to reflect upon feedback. Research shows students ignore feedback on writing once they see grades. This reality leads instructors to feel that giving feedback is an inefficient or unnecessary process. Such feelings could lead to less productive feedback, leaving students without the knowledge or motivation to improve. For this reason, I have delayed informing students of grades on writing assignments. Instead of written feedback, I have begun giving screencast video feedback and requiring self-assessment before showing grades. I will show my process, teach the tools, explain the rationale, and present examples of student growth.

One of the greatest gifts we have is the ability to worship our Lord together as the body of Christ. But with the global church at our doorstep, many worship planners and leaders in English-speaking schools and congregations face questions of how to embrace a global liturgy. This workshop will examine multilingual singing in worship, especially focusing on bilingual contexts (Spanish/English and Mandarin Chinese/English).

The Art and Science of Difficult Conversations
Limited Capacity seats available

At some point soon, you will again have a difficult conversation: the type of conversation that you would happily delegate to someone else if you could! Rather than avoiding or stumbling through it, we will look how to the approach and how to prepare, so that you do your best on your part. We will talk about the philosophy as well as techniques that will help give you confidence as you navigate these situations.
